Robyn Abdusamad

Founder & Executive Director

A native of North Carolina. Robyn graduated from NC A&T State University (BA, Communications-Public Relations) and National University (MS, Public Administration). She has over 10 years of experience working in leadership and management roles within corporate America and non-profit sectors (ie. American Airlines, Guilford County Schools, NC A&T State University and National MS Society). Robyn is a published author of four children's books and successfully hosted the first statewide NC Muslim Festival in downtown Greensboro.

Her role with S.H.I.N.E. is to oversee the day-to-day operation and governance of the organization.

    Business Operations Manager

    Job Description: Responsible for financial and business operational systems, processes, administration, and internal controls. The position’s primary goal is to ensure the day-to-day business and financial operations of the organization run effectively and efficiently.

    ​

    Must have 3+ years of budgeting, financial reporting, human resources and/or business administration experience. Proven integrity, credibility and dedication to S.H.I.N.E.'s mission. Excellent communication, self-starter, time management, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

    Work closely with the Executive Director.

    Marketing & Communications Manager

    Job Description: Manage our online and offline communication with clients and increase brand awareness. Marketing Communications Manager responsibilities include distributing promotional material, responding to customers’ queries and comments on social media and networking during marketing events. If you have experience in identifying and building long-term relationships with target audiences, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will act as our brand’s voice to impress our customers and attract new clients.

    ​

    Knowledgeable of SEO and Google Analytics, marketing-advertising campaigns on social media, and good presentation skills. Must be a self-starter, team player, creative, organized, results-driven, and excellent with verbal and written communication.

    Programs & Special Events Manager

    Job Description: Developing and maintaining partnerships with suppliers, booking venues, researching and negotiating with vendors, organizing third-party service providers, and managing all event operations while taking care of financial and time constraints. Also, manages annual fundraising campaign for S.H.I.N.E.

    Must be a self-started, organized with excellent time management, communication, and results-driven skills. Possess great team player, leadership, and credible qualities.

    Grant Writer & Administrator Manager

    Job Description: The Grant Writer & Administrator Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting new and existing government, foundation and corporate fundraising initiatives to generate increased revenue to support our work of youth development. Additionally, this position will provide assistance in writing/ editing any written material being used to communicate agency mission, events, program descriptions, etc. The Grant Writer & Administrator assists with the financial sustainability of S.H.I.N.E.  

    ​

    Must have 2+ years of grant writing experience, possess excellent communication, organization, time management, and computer skills. Ability to prioritize, be a self-starter, team player, and ability to network with external partners.

    ​

    Reports to the Business Operations Manager.
